Already in 2003 three theatre festivals for students decided it might be a good idea to develop an exchange project for young makers of their festival. Since then, the project has been developed to what it is nowadays: the International Young Makers’ Exchange (IYME). The aim of IYME is to create opportunities for young European theatre makers to show their work on platforms all over Europe. Alongside performing their work, the theatre makers are offered a programme of workshops that will stimulate and develop their skills. And, while participating, the young theatre makers engage with European colleagues and will build an international network, inspiration and contacts for life. Performing internationally, developing skills and building a network, that is what IYME is about!
